Community Development Projects
How we define Community Development… “Process by which communities and outside agencies plan, organize, or implement general improvements of community resources, facilities, economic conditions, etc., engaging a holistic approach and beginning with an asset based survey”.
Our Community Development Projects (CDP) Coordinator Francisco Alvarado works with the San Matías Patronato (Mayor) and the other 15 villages we serve to identify requirements in their villages, and then establish solutions which engage self-help systems and partners with visiting mission teams to assist with the project completion.
People visit this site looking for a short term mission trip. Some feel a nudge to do something that benefits someone else. Others are looking for adventure and personal growth. They have a desire to see, experience and discover their faith in new and meaningful ways. A CareTeam mission trip is a way to learn from others and explore what God is doing in Honduras. When it comes to missions, some see it both ways. So do we.
When we perceive God working among us and become a part of his mission, we find those divine appointments that God arranges or allows for three purposes: so God can reveal Himself to us more fully, so He can reveal Himself to those around us or so He can reveal ourselves to ourselves. Experiencing the presence and grace of God is the purpose… the mission trip is the reason and means to be in Honduras.
