From MDM’s President Desk
It’s been a wonderful year!
We are approaching the end of a wonderful year! At MDM Honduras, we continue to see the fruits of our labor materializing through meaningful partnerships to faithful Education Sponsors, Legacy Partners, Shorth-term Mission Teams, and Donors to the Scholarship fund, Food & Meds Program, Dental-care, and Clean Water Programs.
We praise God for ALL He has done and allowed us to accomplish this year, despite the economic difficulties worldwide. Our good Lord has provided through the prayers and support from our ministry partners the means and resources to carry out the mission He has entrusted us with for His people on the mountains of San Matias.
By God’s grace and the generosity of our ministry partners, during 2023 more than 170 scholarships were awarded to students from first grade to college. 45 students (27 in high school & 18 in college) could travel to the city for higher education. One student graduated from college and six more from high school.
Families in the community were reached out with the gospel, through tangible demonstration of God’s love by distributing approx. 18000 lbs. in food assistance (400 food baskets), 250 water filters, and support for medical and dental care. In collaboration with nine short-term mission teams, 3 houses were built (one of them to serve as a community medical clinic), 12 cement floors were poured and 2 medical brigades were held, where approx. 250 patients were seen and received the medicines they needed for free. School building repairs and access to electricity as well as the second phase of the road improvement were provided for 90 families living in Recizapa.
At MDM ministry site…
- Relaunched the dental clinic that serves our sponsored students.
- Bible classes and discipleship classes were served twice a week.
- Bonfire with 9th grade, high school, and college students.
- Grammar, Reading comprehension, and Composition contest, and much more…
In 2024 the transformation of lives… One child, One family, One community at a time, continues and it has its challenges! For instance, we want to bring in 20 new students to the education program; that means about 190 scholarships will be awarded! 57 students will need to travel to the city for their classes; 37 in high school and 20 in college!! Outfit the computer lab and start computer classes for the Mulular and Recizapa students; that means we need 20+ computers. And so forth…
In order to provide the funds to face part of these needs, we have recently launched a Donor Match Challenge in which every donation of any amount will be matched, and its impact doubled! The goal is to raise $20,000.00 before the end of the year. My hopes and prayers are that we could go further and raise/pledge all that is needed before classes start in February 2024.
I pray that God’s grace and favor may be with you and your loved ones during this Christmas season, and that during 2024 He may continue to establish His will and His purpose for your life.

16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
