All around the world, Gospel-centered ministers find themselves in the middle of a world-wide pandemic – that lives right next door. MDM Honduras, just like you, is acutely aware of the pressing-needs brought on by COVID-19 and is adapting in “real time” to the new ministry opportunities before us. Chief among the needs across the village of San Matias are food, medicines, encouragement, prayer and of course Hope. In considering our ministry options, we were reminded of Esther’s story in the Old Testament – and specifically Mordecia’s exhortation to Esther, “Who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.”

In this first few months of COVID the impact across San Matias, we are seeing a decade of investment in young Honduran leaders pay off as they shoulder the work of ministry even in the absence of our senior leaders, who are restricted to their homes due to government imposed shelter-in-place laws. So, we have an active capacity to minister in critical ways, but our budget has been deeply impacted by changes in giving and capacity for North American short-term missionaries to stay engaged.
Will you become a partner with us “for such a time as this?” Our Esther’s Partner campaign honors the modern day Esthers who are responding with courage, commitment and compassion. It also allows YOU to be a direct part of the solution for this special group of people in rural Honduras.
