MDM Honduras Leadership Team Update
(a special update from the MDM President, Dixie Rosales)
Greetings from Honduras,
In today’s update, we would like to share with you how our Honduras ministry team is responding to the emerging needs on the mountain as the Coronavirus crisis continues to unfold in our country.
As part of our response to the Covid-19 situation in Honduras, and despite the financial stress we’re going through, our ministry is reaching out to the families in San Matias, to help with food and medicines.
These past ten days, our staff and tutors have been busy ministering to the families of our MDM children. By God’s grace Roxana and a dedicated team of nine tutors put together 105 large bags of food. They delivered them to each of the homes of our MDM families in 9 villages of San Matias. In the next few days, we will be giving 50 more bags of food to the families of our children in the villages of Mulular and Recisapa.
We are so thankful for your generosity, which allows us the opportunity to continue to serve and minister to our people’s needs. Please pray for the Lord’s protection over Roxana and the tutors as they hike the mountains delivering the bags of food and sharing the Gospel.
As the US economy begins to open up, and you start to go about your daily activities, we pray for safety and God’s protection over you and your loved ones. (PLEASE remember to pray for the nearly 9 million people of Honduras. The WHO is predicting the peak of the pandemic for Honduras to be mid-June)
In previous updates, we have asked you to pray for the ministry. Today, may we ask you to join us in prayer for some specific needs.
Please pray for:
- Strength and encouragement of the Honduran staff and tutors
- God’s divine hand of protection over our Honduran brothers and sisters
- Ability to reach those that are hungry and hurting
- The Lord would give us discernment in the critical decision-making process
- God will provide for financial needs so that we may continue to minister to the needy
- Christ will be glorified, and His church strengthened in this time of crisis
I thank my God in all remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now.” Phil. 1:3-5
