Laptops for Students, Opportunities for Life
In the rural communities of San Matías, access to technology is a major barrier to education. With the rising cost of living and the daily struggle to secure work and put food on the table, families have been forced to put high school and college education for their children on hold.
For years, it’s been nearly impossible for them to afford the travel expenses required to attend classes in the city, let alone provide the necessary technological resources —such as computers and other devices— that would enable their children to excel in their studies.
- Many families cannot afford transportation to high school and college in Tegucigalpa
- Families cannot provide laptops or internet access
- Obsolete computer labs limit learning potential
Without access to technology, high school and college students fall behind
and dreams of graduation fade away.
Our Goal: 50 Laptops by 2027
Through this initiative, MDM Honduras will replace 13 obsolete computers of our computer labs, and provide 37 new laptops over the next three years, reaching over 200 students from elementary to college. Laptops will be used both on-campus and at home—ensuring students stay connected and succeed.
